Follow Up Appointment

Today was the boys follow up appointment after being sick with strep throat. They did a full check up on the boys. They both have 20/20 vision and they both weigh 27 lbs. The doctor was concerned about AJ's weight because he is in the 3rd percentile for weight. He has been between the 3rd and 10th percentile since he was 9 months old. This is a new doctor so he doesn't know much of AJ's medical history or the fact that I've been dealing with this issue for almost 3 years now. His old doctor and I came to the conclusion that this is just his genetic make up and he is perfectly healthy.

This doctor suggested that we start adding Carnation Instant Breakfast to his whole milk. This is something I used to do for about 2 years but it just wasn't doing anything for his weight gain. He also suggested that I add a scoop of ice cream to his milk (AJ will love that!) and to give him a PediaSure everyday. I think this will help him put on a couple pounds. I just hope this doesn't affect his appetite so much that he stops eating real food and ends up drinking all his calories.

The doctor said he was filling out questions on each of the boys on his computer. When filling out Ronde's survey..the doctor said that the question was "Can the child say atleast 30 words?" He said he answered this question with "Yes, he doesn't stop talking!" haha!! And that is so true!!
