We went to the library today. We had books that were due back today that my mom checked out for the kids. I finally got my own library card and checked out more books for the kids. They really love to read, especially Ronde. You can never get through a book without him asking a million questions. I try to get books with a short amount of words that have a lot of rhyming and counting. AJ really catches on well with books that rhyme and I've caught him reading books to himself. You could have swore he knew how to read just by listening to him! I think he just remembers the story but it's nice that he can read himself a book every once and a while.
Once we got home, we went ahead and baked the cookies that AJ has been begging me to bake. We always have some kind of junk food in the house whether it's Easter candy, cupcakes, ice cream, and now cookies. I shouldn't have bought these cookies but it was just calling this pregnant woman's name when I walked by them. LOL
We went to my mom's house for dinner tonight. She made her Salsa Chicken which I haven't eaten since I was a kid. It's so easy to make, so I will start making it for my kids now that I know how she cooks it. I've been keeping track of AJ's eating to see what is causing the weight issue. He ate all his breakfast (2 pancakes), all his lunch (macaroni and cheese with hot dogs), a cookie, some sunflower seeds, all his dinner (salsa chicken and yellow rice), a big bowl of ice cream, 2.5 cups of milk with Carnation Instant Breakfast added to it and a PediaSure. Tell me this boy doesn't eat? I don't think we have a problem with his eating so I don't see why the doctor is so worried about his weight. It's his genetics!!
