My Mother's Day

Andre came home from his camping trip, around noon, on Mother's Day. We went to a park for a walk and let the kids play on the playground. It was a beautiful day in the 90's. After our walk, we grabbed Panera to go and came home. Andre folded and put away the laundry that I had started earlier that morning. I was able to take an afternoon nap which never happens. The neighborhood kids all wished me a Happy Mother's Day which I thought was so sweet. AJ told me that I was "the best buyer, the best cooker, and the best laundrier." haha! I'm glad he appreciates all I do for him.

This is a little bridge that crosses a river at the park...

This picture was actually taken today on our walk..a snake! Since it's spring, all the bugs and snakes are coming out of hiding.

Smart Start Baseball

AJ and Ronde started their Smart Start Baseball today. It's for ages 3-4. It teaches them how to play baseball. They passed out baseball bats, baseballs, baseball gloves and their uniform shirts to all the kids. Today was the first practice and we had it in the gym at the youth center on base. In about 2 weeks, we'll make our way out to the baseball field. They learned the 3 steps on how to through a ball. AJ caught on so fast. I was so impressed with him. I think he is a natural!!! Ronde had a shorter attention span but I'm sure he'll be just as good as AJ a year from now. The boys had so much fun, they didn't want to leave. It makes me happy that he loves sports.
We almost didn't even make it to practice today. We were at the park going for a walk and letting the kids play on the playground like we do everyday. It just hit me out of no where that the kids had practice in less than 30 minutes. I forgot it was Monday because Andre had the day off today. So we took off to the truck as fast as we could and made it right on time.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

As I was going through my computer looking up all the pictures of my mom, it brought back so many great memories. I will always remember when my mom came to visit us while we lived in Hawaii. We did so much while she was there from hiking, beaches, and site seeing. It made my whole stay in Hawaii worth it. I hate being so far away from my mom due to the military life. I always look forward to visiting her in Florida when I can.
My mom is my best friend. I call her almost everyday even though I may not have anything important to say. I'll just think of one good excuse to call and I pick up the phone and start dialing. Now that I'm older, have children, and matured, our relationship has changed a lot in a great way. I really genuinely enjoy spending time with her, I still love my mom's cooking, and she is an amazing Grandma to my children.
My mom is such a sweet and caring person. She would do anything for her kids and devotes a lot of her time to my brother, sister, and I. My mom is the most beautiful women in the world. I hope I look half as good as she does when I'm her age.
I look forward to the day we move back to Florida for good and to start a new chapter of our relationship.

I love you so much Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Park and BBQ

The boys and I had such a busy day today. First, we met up with my military wive friends at the park for a play date. It was great getting to know the other wives. We have so much in common especially since we are all military families. I look forward to many more play dates with them.
After the park, I headed to target to get the boys new bathing suits and beach towel. We were going to a BBQ at another friends house and they had a pool and slip and slide set up for the kids. We ate ribs, potato salad, baked beans, and coleslaw. It was so good! The kids had so much fun, they didn't want to leave.
I haven't heard from Andre today. I assume he's having a great time camping. I guess he doesn't miss me too much..haha!

Daddy's Camping Trip

Andre left for his guy's camping trip today. He'll be gone until Mother's Day on Sunday. He was really excited about it so I hope he has a good time. Before he left, we went for a family walk at our favorite park. I'm glad we had some family time before he left. Andre is off Monday so we'll celebrate Mother's Day then =)

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood...

Today we received the best news ever! We went to the base housing office to sign our lease for the old 3 bedroom house they offered us. After we began signing the lease, some questions arose as to why we were on the 3 bedroom waitlist when we qualify for a 4 bedroom. She proceeded to tell us that there are newly renovated 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath townhomes coming available in June and that she could pull some strings and give us one of those houses. We were stoked! I feel like it was a miracle! We would be the first family to move in since the renovations. It will come with all new appliances, garage, storm shelter, all new kitchen cabinets and bathrooms,as well as a family room. I'm not sure what we will do with so much space but I'm so excited!
After we left the housing office, we went to the playground with the kids. Andre and I could not stop smiling!
