Unexpected Snowfall

We were so surprised to wake up to snow this morning! We were only expecting icy roads for today. The weather didn't feel very cold, no wind, and the only child that wanted to play in the snow was Jamal. So we dragged his John Deer Tractor out to the front yard and played. The snowflakes were so big and pretty. I just drank my coffee and watched the snow fall. So pretty! 

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning! We had an awesome Christmas this year. Our first Christmas in our new home. We even got some snow! The boys got everything they wanted this year and we are so grateful to be able to provide them a great Christmas. Ronde got a lot of action figures, super hero masks, spiderman web blaster, and a light saber that he asked Santa for. Both AJ and Ronde got a pair of new roller skates, Wii,  and Skylander Giants Starter Pack. AJ got a new skateboard and pogo stick from Santa and a dream lights pillow pet that he has wanted for months. Jamal got a John Deer tractor, a pirate ship, Chuck the truck, and a few other gifts. I got Andre a new Playstation 3 and he got me a new Macbook Pro!! Everyone was very happy! I cooked Christmas dinner the night before so I wouldn't have to cook on Christmas. We ate leftover Horseradish crusted steak Roulade, sauteed green beans with garlic and tomatoes, buttered dill red potatoes, dinner rolls, and strawberry cheesecake for dessert. I also baked sausage cheese balls to snack on. This meal is becoming our Christmas dinner tradition.

Halloween

AJ was on the S.W.A.T team, Ronde was a zombie, and Jamal was a skeleton. It was Jamal's first time trick or treating and he was the cutest little skeleton I've ever seen. Andre came home from deployment just in time to go trick or treating with us. We walked around our new neighborhood and it was very nice and the kids got a good amount of candy. Of course, it's all gone now..ha

A.J.'s 6th Birthday

Today is A.J.'s 6th Birthday! Usually I'm very excited about birthdays, but for some reason, this birthday made me a little sad. My oldest son is growing up too fast. Ronde, Jamal, and I went shopping, picked out a cake, balloon, presents, and pizza and had it all ready for AJ for when he walked in the door after school.

 He was very happy when he walked through the door! We ate some pizza, opened presents, and wished AJ a Happy Birthday. I also brought frosted sugar cookies with sprinkles to AJ's class so that he could celebrate with his friends. He classmates all colored a birthday cake piece of paper and the teacher stapled them altogether to make a book. It was the cutest idea and makes a great keepsake. We plan on taking AJ to Chuck E. Cheese and Toys R Us to use the gift card my mom sent him and also let him pick out a skate board from Andre and I.
