Saturday was Collen's 5Th Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese. His mom, Jessica, and I have been good friends since middle school. We had pizza and Batman themed birthday cake. Collen was so excited to see Chuck E. and was not shy at all to be dancing in front of everyone while they sang the Chuck E. Cheese birthday songs. The kids each got a cup of tokens so we played lots of games and went on some rides. It was a great party!
Today I decided to take the kids to the pool and start teaching them how to swim. I always get nervous going to the pool with 2 kids by myself but it wasn't so bad. Before we went to the pool, I went to Walmart, Pinch a Penny, CVS, and Toys R Us looking for a specific life vest for the kids. Just my luck, I couldn't find it any where. I ended up coming home and ordering two online. So we swam without floaties today...yikes! Ronde jumped into the pool about a 100 times today. I would catch him as he goes under water. I wanted to make sure he knew how to hold his breath and he did a great job. He LOVES swimming and is so comfortable with it that he is going to catch on in no time. AJ on the other hand is just satisfied with hanging around on the steps. He's the cautious one of the boys so it's going to take a little push to get him wanting to learn to swim.
We left the pool after about 2 of 3 hours. The rain clouds were starting to roll in so it was time to go. We came home and enjoyed big bowls of ice cream and Ronde is now passed out on my couch. Ha!
