The Great Pumpkin Patch

This past weekend, our base was throwing their annual The Great Pumpkin Patch. It is a fun event for the children. There was pumpkins scattered in the field and the kids got to pick a pumpkin for free! After they picked their pumpkins, we had the option to paint them. Well I opted out of that since I was pushing a stroller and there was no way I was going to carry 3 wet pumpkins around. After we took a few pictures, we headed to the playground. I caught up with my good friend Monica while the kids played. We are looking forward to AJ's school Fall Carnival as well as the base's Halloween Carnival! More updates to come!

Lake Arcadia - Fishing Trip

My friends Monica and Kevin invited me and my boys to go fishing with them at Lake Arcadia. Another couple joined us whom I have never met before but we all hit it off and a great time with great conversation. We did not catch any fish except for a tiny sunfish. The boys love Monica and Kevin's girls, Ellie and Ashlynn, and were excited to play with them. After a couple hours, we saw rain clouds rolling in so we had to end the fishing trip early. While I was chatting with the other wives, they were talking about the Navy Ball. Andre has been in the Navy for 6 years and we have never attended a Navy Ball. So this year we are going! It is on the 29th so I really need to go dress shopping soon! More posts on this later =)

Weekend Recap!

AJ received his first Birthday invitation from a classmate, Chandler. I have heard of Chandler's name many times and knew that AJ and him were good friends at school. Although I was a little nervous to go, especially since I have never met Chandler's parents before, I could not let AJ miss his best friends Birthday party. The party was a fun concept, Super Hero Academy! The guest were suppose to show up wearing their favorite super hero costume. We did not have a costume and since Halloween is right around the corner, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to let AJ and Ronde pick out their Halloween costumes. AJ wanted to be a soldier for Halloween, which is certainly not a "super hero" but definitely a real Hero. Ronde chose an Iron Man costume which was so cute especially since that is his daddy's squadron's logo. The party was a hit and it was great to meet some of AJ's classmate's parents and to get the kids together outside of the classroom.

Today, my Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Curt came in town after attending a Pilot's reunion in Missouri. My Uncle is a retired Air Force Pilot and it's so nice to be able to relate to him with the military life. We sure missed Andre and wished he could of been here to meet my family. It has been 7 years since I have last seen my Aunt and Uncle and I am so happy they wanted to come visit my kids and I. It was the first time they have met my boys. I arranged for a sitter and my Aunt, Uncle, and I went to Bricktown for dinner. We ate dinner at Toby Kieth's I Love This Bar and Grill, a restaurant I have been wanting to try. It was a great atmosphere and great food. It was a fun night catching up with Carolyn and Curt and I am sad to see them go. I hope to plan a trip to visit them soon in Ohio!

Life as we know it..

The days just seem to fly by and I wish they would slow down just a little. As soon as Andre comes home from deployment and we are finally getting settled back into our lives together, he has to leave again for another deployment. Tomorrow Andre leaves again for a month. We have been spending a lot of quality time as a family. Yesterday, Andre took us to his squadron to look at the airplane he works/flies on. The boys loved every second of it. It was neat to see where Andre sits/works on the plane and where he eats his meals while he is flying. Now I have a picture in my mind of what his days are like while he is deployed.
After we toured the airplane and met his co workers, we went to the park for a walk. We always stop at McDonald's for fries, chicken sandwich, cookies, and iced coffees. So not healthy and we always look ridiculous at the park; stopping every two seconds to take a bite of our food. We walked and let the kids play on the playground then we took off to the Halloween store. We were going to let the boys pick out their costumes but Ronde got too spooked by all the scary Halloween props and decorations. He was literally shaking - so we left. It was a little funny though especially since he's the one who always says he wants to grow up to be a "zombie".

On a side note: AJ's teacher wrote me such a sweet note today. Mrs. King said that "Andre (AJ) always makes such good choices. What a breath of fresh air!" I'm so happy to hear that AJ is doing so well at school!

Lights, Camera, Action!!

Andre flew in today and we were so excited and ready for him to be home! Once he got home, we started Jamal and Andre's birthday celebration. I got Jamal dressed in his Birthday outfit that his god mommy, Heather, bought him. It is such a cute outfit and perfect for the occasion!

We sang "Happy Birthday" to Jamal and Daddy. I put two candles on the cake, one for each of them to blow out.
Jamal enjoyed his cake! I don't think he has tasted anything so sweet before.
Present time!!

We are such a close family and nothing can beat a small party with the ones you love the most.

Once Upon A Child

(Just a few of the outfits I got today)

My mom sent Jamal a $50 check for his birthday and I new exactly what to spend it on. Jamal needed fall/winter clothes desperately since fall is right around the corner. I took all the kids to Once Upon A Child consignment store and scored some awesome stuff including a Sean John sweater, Timberland boots, and cute hats. I love that store! Jamal is going to look so handsome this winter and it was worth all the screaming, crying, tantrums, and stares I got while I was shopping =P
